After graduation I attended
Vol State, having absolutely no clue what I wanted to do with my life. I am pretty sure I changed my major 4 or 5 times while I was there! After meeting my future husband, Tim, through a mutual friend, I moved to where he was in the mountains of East TN. I graduated from
ETSU with a Bachelors in
Speech Communication. Basically, I went to school to learn how to talk in to people, which I already knew pretty well. While still in school, I spent my summers traveling for
mission trips to places like the Philippines,
Costa Rica, and
Ethiopia and LOVED it.
Still having no clue what I wanted to do as a career, I got married in June 2007 and directly after took a Promotions Director position at a
local radio station. I knew I hated it right away, but was there for nearly two years. I now work for a local faith-based, non-profit group providing support to other non-profits and ministries in our area and love it! Tim and I have now been married for 4 years and are expecting our first little one towards the end of January. We still live in Johnson City, TN, and I can't imagine NOT living in the mountains for the rest of my life.
