Cecilia Crutcher Quintero: 10 Year Update

After graduation I attended Western Kentucky University with the hopes of becoming a broadcast journalist.  I quickly found out that career choice was not for me, and my calling was to work with people.  Therefore, like most college students, I changed my major at the end of my junior year to Public Relations.  I graduated in December 2005 with a Bachelors Degree in Public Relations and a minor in Sociology.

Since graduating college, life has been more exciting than I ever imagined.  I married Randall Quintero in September of 2009 and moved to San Diego, California.  My husband is in the US Navy and is currently deployed overseas.  I am back in Nashville and working for Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health, as a research assistant.  My area of study is diabetes, trying to determine factors that prevent people of low socioeconomic status from following medication and treatment regimens as prescribed.  Getting to work with this patient population everyday has truly been a blessing.  I am thankful for all the opportunities and blessings I have been given in life and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
