Jessica (Smith) Link: 10 Year Update

I attended UT Knoxville from 2001 to 2004 where I earned a Bachelors Degree in Urban Studies. After graduating, I was hired as a bill clerk for the Tennessee State Senate during the 2005 session. After session ended, I worked as assistant to Attorney General Phil Summers’ office. During this time, I decided to pursue a career in the private sector and was hired as a Planner for an engineering and planning consulting firm specializing in transportation. While working full time, I went back to school and graduated from Tennessee State University with a Masters in Public Administration. I had worked at Wilbur Smith Associates (Franklin, TN) for 5 years in April until I had to take a medical leave of absence to care for my son Thatcher.

Soon after I began working for WSA, I married BJ Link (class of 1999) in 2006, and we bought a home in Madison, TN. We have 2 children, Amelia (2) and Thatcher (1). A couple of months after Thatcher was born, he was diagnosed with biliary atresia, a rare liver disease, and needed a liver transplant. Long story short, I donated a portion of my liver to him on March 22, 2011 – he at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital and me at the nearby adult hospital. He is doing remarkably well and we are finally back home, reunited with my husband and daughter after staying in PA for 2 months. I’m home with the kids now and very grateful the Lord has blessed our family with a new lease on life.

Cecilia Crutcher Quintero: 10 Year Update

After graduation I attended Western Kentucky University with the hopes of becoming a broadcast journalist.  I quickly found out that career choice was not for me, and my calling was to work with people.  Therefore, like most college students, I changed my major at the end of my junior year to Public Relations.  I graduated in December 2005 with a Bachelors Degree in Public Relations and a minor in Sociology.

Since graduating college, life has been more exciting than I ever imagined.  I married Randall Quintero in September of 2009 and moved to San Diego, California.  My husband is in the US Navy and is currently deployed overseas.  I am back in Nashville and working for Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health, as a research assistant.  My area of study is diabetes, trying to determine factors that prevent people of low socioeconomic status from following medication and treatment regimens as prescribed.  Getting to work with this patient population everyday has truly been a blessing.  I am thankful for all the opportunities and blessings I have been given in life and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Jessica Birdwell Trivette: 10 Year Update

After graduation I attended Vol State, having absolutely no clue what I wanted to do with my life. I am pretty sure I changed my major 4 or 5 times while I was there! After meeting my future husband, Tim, through a mutual friend, I moved to where he was in the mountains of East TN. I graduated from ETSU with a Bachelors in Speech Communication. Basically, I went to school to learn how to talk in to people, which I already knew pretty well. While still in school, I spent my summers traveling for mission trips to places like the Philippines, Costa Rica, and Ethiopia and LOVED it.

Still having no clue what I wanted to do as a career, I got married in June 2007 and directly after took a Promotions Director position at a local radio station. I knew I hated it right away, but was there for nearly two years. I now work for a local faith-based, non-profit group providing support to other non-profits and ministries in our area and love it! Tim and I have now been married for 4 years and are expecting our first little one towards the end of January. We still live in Johnson City, TN, and I can't imagine NOT living in the mountains for the rest of my life.

Jessica Seymore Binkley: 10 Year Update

After graduation in 2001, I went to Belmont University on a softball scholarship where I played for 4 years.  I got my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and graduated in December 2005.  After graduation, I worked at Belmont as the assistant softball coach for the 2005-2006 season.  I moved out of state for a couple of years where I worked at LeBonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis on a critical care step-down unit for infants, I coached high school softball, and started work on my Master's in Nursing Education. During that time, I also became a foster parent to a 16-year-old who will now be 20 in October!  After graduating high school, he moved to Texas to start working and will start college in the fall.  He is still a very big part of both mine and my family's life...
In December 2009, I reconnected with an 'old friend' on Facebook of all places - Kyle Binkley (class of 2000).  We started dating and were engaged August 2010.  We were married April 22, 2011, in a small ceremony (with 18 guests) on the beach in Destin, FL.  Our date was very special because it would've been my grandparents' 60th anniversary and Kyle's dad officiated our wedding.   I moved back to Greenbrier in June 2010 and started working at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital where I am on an infant, toddler, and school-age children's unit.  Kyle is a project manager for Hollingsworth Oil Company in Springfield.  We live in White House now with our 2 girls, our weimaraners, Kami and Kasi.  We attend church in Madison where we are members of Madison Church of Christ

Jennifer Hopper Lankford: 10 Year Update

After graduation I attended Cumberland University.  At Cumberland I played 4 years of college golf, obtained my Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree, and best of all, met my best friend and husband Eric.  We were married in 2006 and just celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary.

Working for two years in the ICU at Vanderbilt encouraged me to further my career once again.  In 2009 I graduated from Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia.  Taking a leap of faith, Eric and I moved to Springfield, Missouri where I accepted a job.  I am so thankful that I found a career where I can help people in some of their most stressful times (surgery) and some of the most joyful times (labor and delivery).

In our free time, Eric and I enjoy traveling, playing golf, and hanging out with friends.  We have a boxer named Mia who pretty much rules our house, and we are also excited to announce that we are expecting our first child in October of this year.  Life is great!!!
