Patrick Conwell: 10 Year Update

After graduation, I went to Tennessee Tech for a year, then went to Vol State for a year, then went *back* to Tech for a year. Clearly, I couldn't make up my mind so I dropped out of school until I figured out what I wanted to do. I randomly ending up working at the Pharmacy at Vanderbilt. After working at the Pharmacy for about a year, I applied to the Police Dept at Vanderbilt, and I was accepted. I went to the Police Academy in the spring of 2005 and graduated top of class. I worked for Vanderbilt PD for about a year and a half, doing mostly "community relations" work, but also did some patrol and traffic enforcement.

I decided I wanted to finish my degree, so I went back to school at Austin Peay, joined ROTC, and got a full scholarship. While in school, I worked for the Coopertown Police Dept doing traffic enforcement - yes, I was *that* guy. In Dec '08, I graduated with my degree in Homeland Security and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army. I elected to serve my six years with the National Guard, and I am a Platoon Leader for the 1176th Transportation Company in Tullahoma, TN. I returned to the Vanderbilt Police Department.

Currently, I have spent the last 3 months at Officer's Leadership Course at the Army Logistics University in Ft Lee, VA, and I graduate this Friday. When I return, I will resume my civilian job at Vanderbilt Police Dept, again doing community relations work.
